RISK IDENTIFICATION
Our risk analysts bring an independent and insightful perspective to building a true understanding
of the risks faced by your project. In the full form of our service:-
• We interview a full spectrum of project stakeholders, applying our experience and proven
interviewing methods to draw out thoughts about risk from the project's people. We attune our
approach to each interviewee's nature, for example asking questions proactively or following the
interviewee's line of thought as suits the moment. Our approach includes asking "naïve questions"
which in fact challenge accepted wisdom, thus bringing out further risks. Most importantly, we are
good listeners.
• We facilitate project risk brainstorms, generally to provide a quick initial view of the risk and to
establish lines of questioning for the interviews.
• Further, our experience of analogous situations in other programmes adds to the insight that we
can elicit, by providing context for our questions and as a source of ideas regarding potential risks.
• We recognise every project is different: we adapt our approach to suit the project's particular needs.
• The approach described above sounds demanding. It is: but we have a lot of successful
experience of implementing it.

The independence we offer is important, as it is not only crucial to establish a dispassionate view
of the project's risks, but also to provide all the stakeholders (especially your Customer) with
confidence that it is in fact accurate.

The real added value MMA brings lies in experience. We do not employ inexperienced people
tasked with reading out questions from checklists to your personnel, and with acting as secretary
for their answers. Rather, we apply our experience to seek out the risks that would otherwise be
missed, writing down the risks we perceive whether or not they have been articulated. Our
Clients know this, which is why we have been able to establish long lasting and mutually beneficial
relationships.

We can also use our experience to help your people improve their performance in identifying risk:
