We can add substantial value to the safety management of your product in terms of any or all of:-

• PLANNING the approach to safety management, bringing our experience to bear to ensure the discipline is properly

embedded in your processes; also preparing your Safety Management Plan (including establishing a set of safety concept

definitions that suits the particular circumstances of your project).

• IDENTIFICATION of the hazards to which your product may be subject and the accidents to which these may lead -

noting our systematic but insightful approach to interviewing your Suitably Qualified and Experienced (SQEP) personnel.

• ANALYSIS of the hazards and accidents, getting to the root of the detailed cause and effect influences, measuring these

in terms of probability and impact, and working with your SQEP people to establish proper evidence to support the

conclusions drawn - setting all this out in a properly constituted Hazard Log.

• ESTABLISHING the actions that are needed to reduce the probability of the hazards and/or mitigate the scale of the

consequential accidents - facilitating the process of building such actions into your project plans, and assisting with

monitoring the effectiveness of these actions in due time.

• SAFETY CASE construction:

- building a comprehensive Safety Case to the standards your customer will expect;

- establishing within it the evidence needed to gain agreement that the hazards/accidents are As Low As Reasonably Possible;

- facilitating the Safety Panel meetings at which the safety issues are discussed and consensus sought;

- driving the Safety Case through to Acceptance - including "fighting your corner" with your Customer and with the ISA

(Independent Safety Advisor).

• ENSURING the safety management work done complies with your contracted Standards (DefStan 00-56, JSP520 etc).

We can work with the software tools you prefer - or can provide a powerful toolset. Good tools are important, but

what really matters is human insight to perceive the issues and persuade your Customer.

Alternatively we could act as your ISA (Independent Safety Advisor) - or provide basic training to your personnel.
